Tekstraton is seeking an experienced Senior Java Microservices Engineer to join our high-performing engineering team onsite in Calgary, AB. In this critical role, you will architect, implement, and maintain mission-critical enterprise microservices, driving scalability, resiliency, and operational excellence across our core distributed platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and develop high-throughput, low-latency microservices using Java 17+, Spring Boot, and modern cloud design patterns.
- Design and maintain event-driven systems utilizing Apache Kafka for asynchronous communication and data streaming.
- Deploy, manage, and scale containerized services across Kubernetes clusters in a robust production environment.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, QA automation teams, and infrastructure engineers to deliver end-to-end features.
- Drive code quality and engineering standards through thorough code reviews, automated unit/integration testing, and mentoring junior engineers.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of professional backend software engineering experience, with extensive expertise in Java and Spring Framework/Spring Boot.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems architecture, RESTful API design, domain-driven design (DDD), and event-driven patterns.
- Hands-on production experience with containerization and orchestration platforms, specifically Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong background in relational and NoSQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, and transaction management.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and available to work onsite in Calgary, AB.
