Zipporin is seeking a talented Real-Time Streaming Systems Engineer to design, scale, and optimize our mission-critical data streaming infrastructure based out of our Seattle, WA office (hybrid). In this high-impact role, you will engineer fault-tolerant, high-throughput event processing systems capable of handling millions of real-time transactions per second while maintaining strict low-latency SLAs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, implement, and maintain distributed streaming pipelines using Apache Kafka and Apache Flink to support real-time ingestion and analytics.
- Tune, profile, and optimize JVM internals, network I/O, and disk subsystems to achieve ultra-low latency and predictable tail latencies.
- Implement robust stateful stream processing logic, exactly-once processing semantics, and resilient backpressure strategies across distributed nodes.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to manage automated deployments, containerization, and cluster health in cloud environments.
- Establish deep observability and tracing protocols across streaming topologies to proactively troubleshoot bottlenecks and failures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience building and operating large-scale distributed real-time data streaming systems in production.
- Deep expertise in event brokers and processing engines, specifically Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, or Apache Pulsar.
- Strong programming proficiency in Java, Scala, or Go, with an emphasis on concurrent programming and performance optimization.
- Solid foundation in distributed systems concepts, consensus algorithms, partition management, and storage internals.
