Tektend LLC is seeking an experienced Python Microservices Developer to join our expanding engineering team in Chicago, IL on a hybrid basis. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and deploying scalable, high-throughput microservices powering our modern enterprise platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, develop, and maintain robust, scalable microservices using Python and modern asynchronous frameworks such as FastAPI.
- Design and implement resilient RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures to support cross-platform enterprise integrations.
- Containerize backend services using Docker and manage deployments across Kubernetes clusters in an AWS cloud environment.
- Optimize relational and non-relational database interactions, indexing strategies, and caching solutions to maximize performance and minimize latency.
- Champion software engineering best practices including unit and integration testing, code reviews, and CI/CD automation.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of professional backend software development experience with Python.
- Proven expertise in building and decomposing distributed systems using microservices patterns.
- Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration platforms like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong background in message queuing and event streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases, specifically PostgreSQL and Redis.
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Chicago area to accommodate a hybrid working model.
