Tektend LLC is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to design, scale, and optimize our modern enterprise data platform based in New York, NY (hybrid). In this role, you will be instrumental in architecting high-throughput data pipelines, evolving our analytical data models using Snowflake and dbt, and driving engineering excellence across the organization to enable self-serve analytics and advanced machine learning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, build, and maintain production-grade data pipelines and semantic models using Snowflake and dbt.
- Tune and optimize Snowflake compute clusters, warehouse configurations, and query performance to balance throughput and cost efficiency.
- Develop automated data quality testing, monitoring, alerting, and observability frameworks to ensure data integrity across all environments.
- Partner with analytics engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate domain requirements into performant, dimensional data marts.
- Implement data platform infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD deployment workflows utilizing modern DevOps tools and cloud orchestrators.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of data engineering experience with specialized depth in Snowflake administration and dbt (Core or Cloud).
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL and robust software engineering skills in Python.
- Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration engines such as Apache Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.
- Strong understanding of dimensional data modeling, Star/Snowflake schemas, and Data Vault methodologies.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure management tools like Terraform.
- Ability to work on a hybrid schedule in our New York, NY office.
