Tekstraton is seeking an experienced Distributed Systems Architect to lead the technical vision, architecture, and evolution of our high-throughput, mission-critical cloud platform. In this 100% remote Canadian role, you will tackle foundational engineering challenges, designing resilient, fault-tolerant systems capable of operating at massive scale while mentoring top-tier engineering talent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define the long-term architectural strategy, standards, and blueprints for high-throughput, low-latency distributed computing platforms.
- Design and guide the implementation of multi-region data replication, consensus mechanisms, and event-driven architectures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional product and engineering leaders to translate business objectives into scalable technical roadmaps.
- Identify system bottlenecks, optimize resource utilization, and ensure the platform adheres to stringent reliability, security, and performance SLAs.
- Mentor senior engineering staff and foster a culture of architectural rigor and technical excellence across distributed teams.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 4+ years dedicated to distributed systems architecture at enterprise scale.
- Deep understanding of distributed computing primitives, consensus algorithms (e.g., Raft, Paxos), and CAP theorem trade-offs.
- Demonstrated proficiency in systems languages such as Go, Java, or Rust, along with event streaming technologies like Apache Kafka.
- Proven track record architecting cloud-native solutions leveraging Kubernetes, service meshes, and public cloud providers (AWS/GCP/Azure).
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and based anywhere in the country.
