Tektend LLC is seeking a skilled Cloud Security Engineer to join our technical team in Chicago, IL on a hybrid schedule. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain advanced security architectures across our cloud infrastructure, ensuring our systems remain resilient, compliant, and secure against evolving threats.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, automate, and enforce cloud security baselines, guardrails, and compliance policies across multi-cloud environments.
- Integrate automated security scanning (SAST/DAST/SCA) and vulnerability management within CI/CD pipelines to champion DevSecOps practices.
- Manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) architectures, role configurations, and credential governance following least-privilege principles.
- Secure Kubernetes clusters and containerized microservices throughout build, deployment, and runtime stages.
- Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and development teams to conduct threat modeling and lead incident response actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of dedicated experience in cloud security engineering, with deep expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Strong hands-on experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform to provision secure infrastructure.
- Demonstrated capability in container and orchestration security (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Scripting proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go for security automation.
- Industry-standard certifications such as AWS Certified Security - Specialty, CISSP, or CCSP are strongly preferred.
